SS-31 selectively localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane where it interacts with cardiolipin, a unique phospholipid essential for optimal mitochondrial structure and function. By binding to cardiolipin, it helps to stabilize mitochondrial membrane integrity and structure (specifically the cristae membranes). SS-31 50MG has proven to be a cell repair tool in the lab with promising potential.
