MOTS-C (Mitochondrial Open Reading Frame of the 12S rRNA-c) is a researched16-amino acid, mitochondrially encoded peptide that acts as a hormone-like signaling molecule to promote metabolic homeostasis. MOTS-C improves insulin sensitivity, and enhance physical performance. It primarily targets skeletal muscle, activating AMPK to improve glucose metabolism and fatty acid oxidation.
